The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has taken back TIOmarkets CY Ltd's investment firm authorisation after the company chose to give it up. The regulator approved the withdrawal at a meeting in September and made the decision public on 30 October 2026.
Licence decision and its basis
TIOmarkets CY first received its CySEC licence in 2023, permitting it to operate as a regulated investment firm in Cyprus. The company expressly renounced that authorisation. CySEC says it processed the withdrawal under the country's investment services law and the related regulatory directive.
The regulator did not explain why TIOmarkets CY sought to surrender its licence. Its announcement also made no reference to a breach of regulation or enforcement against the firm. TIOmarkets had not responded to a request for comment by the time of publication.
Other firms and new appointments
This is not the first voluntary departure by a Cyprus-regulated broker. CySEC withdrew TTCM Traders Trust Capital Markets' authorisation in June this year, followed by HTFX in January, FIBO Markets in September last year and FXTM in May 2024. Each of those firms had opted to give up its Cyprus authorisation.
Separately, Andreas Skianis said he had taken the Global Head of Partners role at TIOmarkets. He previously held that post at IC Markets and has worked at IronFX, M4Markets and HotForex. The company has also appointed Nick Jay as Chief Operating Officer and FX Consultant.

What an operations team should check
Finance Magnates reported that it had sought comment from TIOmarkets and had received no response before publication. The public announcement does not explain the company's decision or set out operational changes arising from the withdrawal.
Operations and compliance teams should check where TIOmarkets CY Ltd is identified as a Cyprus-regulated firm across internal records and customer-facing materials. They should establish whether any entity references need updating in onboarding, account administration, reporting or compliance workflows. The announcement does not say that any of these processes are changing, so teams will need to confirm the scope with the company rather than assume a migration is under way.
It is also unclear whether the licence withdrawal affects any existing service arrangements or how TIOmarkets will handle activity previously associated with the Cyprus entity. Teams can ask the firm what, if anything, changes for those arrangements, what date any change takes effect and whether records or controls need to be adjusted. CySEC's notice provides no further detail on those points.
