CySEC records a voluntary surrender
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) withdrew TIOmarkets CY Ltd's investment firm licence on Friday, 30 October 2026, after the company chose to surrender its authorisation. The regulator said it had approved the withdrawal at a meeting in September.
TIOmarkets CY received its CySEC licence in 2023. The authorisation was removed under Cyprus's investment services law and the relevant regulatory directive. CySEC gave no explanation for the company's decision, and its notice cited neither a regulatory breach nor enforcement action.
Other Cyprus brokers gave up licences
The surrender follows other voluntary departures from Cyprus regulation. CySEC withdrew FXTM's authorisation in May 2024, followed by FIBO Markets' licence in September last year and HTFX's in January. In June this year, the regulator withdrew the authorisation of TTCM Traders Trust Capital Markets. Each firm had chosen to relinquish its Cyprus licence.
Two senior appointments reported
Separately, TIOmarkets made two senior appointments. Finance Magnates reported the hires and said it had contacted TIOmarkets about the licence withdrawal but received no response by publication.
- Nick Jay joined as Chief Operating Officer and FX Consultant.
- Andreas Skianis became Global Head of Partners. He held that role at IC Markets and has worked at HotForex, M4Markets and IronFX.
The integration question
The notice does not set out what changes, if any, the withdrawal makes to TIOmarkets' client servicing, execution arrangements or reporting. Operations teams will need to establish which legal entity is responsible for affected accounts, and whether any account records, permissions or reporting workflows need updating.
It also leaves the transition timetable and any system changes unspecified. Risk and technology teams should confirm whether integrations tied to the Cyprus-regulated entity remain in use, who owns reconciliation for affected activity, and whether compliance reporting needs to be rerouted. CySEC's announcement does not answer those operational questions.
