Goldenway Japan, which operates the FXTF retail FX and CFD business, announced on 26 October 2026 that its corporate name will become GW Securities. The change is scheduled for 1 November, with registration due by 1 December; the company has not explained the decision.

Client records keep the FXTF identity

A notice to clients says the FXTF name, customer agreements, website and office location will stay in place. Account-opening paperwork will carry both company names from 30 October. For roughly a month, clients should continue sending deposits to bank accounts held under Goldenway while banks amend the account-holder details.

The change covers a business that reported more than 280,000 accounts in June. That month, FXTF became the first Japanese broker to connect customer accounts to TradingView. Goldenway Japan is owned entirely by Singapore-based FXTF Holdings; its president previously worked for Hong Kong-based Goldenway Investment, whose name the Japanese company had used.

Other Japanese brokers changed names

The announcement came as FXTF disclosed that intruders had traded on several client MT4 accounts using credentials taken from servers rented from GMO Internet Group. FXTF restricted trading on the affected accounts and plans to require one-time passwords at login from 31 October.

IG Japan introduced compulsory two-step login in June during a phishing wave. The name-change notice does not mention the trading incident.

Goldenway Japan holds a Type I financial instruments business license and belongs to the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA). OANDA Japan became OANDA Securities on 1 August 2021 without changing its brand; its Japanese unit held withdrawals the week of the report following the same server-host breach.

Gain Capital Japan took the name StoneX Financial in 2021, then became StoneX Securities in September 2022 while retaining FOREX.com, as Finance Magnates reported. YJFX, bought by GMO Financial Holdings, became Gaika ex by GMO in September 2021, with the FX service adopting that name too.

What this means on the desk

The notice describes a corporate-name change rather than a change to FXTF's customer-facing identity. Operations teams should check whether payment validation, reconciliation rules and client records can handle both names during the transition. The notice does not say whether any other system or integration needs updating.

The immediate operational point is the temporary mismatch between the new company name and the Goldenway name on deposit accounts. Teams should confirm how incoming payments will be matched while banks update their records, and whether account-opening documents showing both names are sufficient for existing controls. The notice does not specify the date on which all bank-account updates will be complete.
