Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ: HOOD) reported third-quarter 2026 results on 27 October 2026. Event-contract revenue reached $173 million, more than six times its year-earlier level, while cryptocurrency revenue was $120 million, down 55%. Contracts traded hit 16.4 billion, a record and more than sevenfold. Crypto notional volume fell 38% to $50 billion: $21 billion on the Robinhood app, down 48%, and $29 billion at Bitstamp, down 28%.
Net revenues rose 12% year on year to $1.42 billion, with transaction-based revenue up 19% to $867 million. Net income declined 14% to $476 million and diluted earnings per share fell 16% to $0.51.
Platform assets increased 19% to $396 billion, which Robinhood attributed to net deposits and stronger equity valuations, partly offset by lower crypto valuations. Gold membership reached 5.2 million, 34% higher, and funded customers totalled 28.7 million.
Revenue and activity split
CFO Shiv Verma said Rothera had added more than $100 million in annualised revenue as it expanded, and Robinhood reported more than 6.4 billion contracts traded on the platform since launch. October net deposits had passed $13 billion month to date. Event-contract activity has climbed from 2.3 billion in the period before the final quarter of 2025 to 8.5 billion in that quarter, then 8.8 billion in the first quarter of 2026, figures Finance Magnates reported previously.
Robinhood began its prediction markets hub in March 2025, initially building the offer through Kalshi, the CFTC-regulated exchange. It later acquired minority stakes in Crypto.com and its prediction-markets business, OG. Connecticut state regulators issued cease-and-desist orders to several platforms, including Robinhood, arguing that contracts tied to sports resembled unlicensed sports betting.
Products adding to the stack
- At the September HOOD Summit, Robinhood announced 17 additions, including earnings contracts in its prediction markets hub, perpetual futures for eligible U.S. Customers and round-the-clock trading in selected U.S. Equities.
- The company launched crypto trading in the UK. The Dubai Financial Services Authority authorised Robinhood for trading and custody in ten asset classes it approves, crypto among them. A regional rollout is planned for 2027.
- Robinhood said its Robinhood Chain was in its first quarter on Mainnet and ranked among the top five chains by revenue and volume. It reported more than $80 billion in DEX volume and more than $50 million in chain fees. About 200,000 customers opened Agentic Trading Accounts, generating more than $1.6 billion in notional trading volume.
What an operations team should check
The reported growth raises practical integration questions for teams handling event contracts and crypto. How does Rothera connect to existing order-routing, exposure and post-trade reconciliation workflows? The results do not specify those interfaces, the reporting fields available to firms or the operational treatment of contract settlement.
Teams should also establish which permissions and controls apply to each product and jurisdiction, particularly for sports-linked contracts and the planned regional rollout. For crypto, operators can ask how UK trading and custody permissions map to their own workflows, and what monitoring and reconciliation are needed across Robinhood app, Bitstamp and Robinhood Chain activity.
